SABRI has always been very supportive of the area residents, especially the youth.

SABRI has two $3,000 scholarships available to Level III students in the area from North Boat Harbour to Goose Cove who will be attending a post-secondary institution in the fall of 2007.  Applicants will be chosen based on academic excellence and financial need.

Also, SABRI has $7,000 in Bursaries which are available to Level III students in the SABRI region.  This makes a total of $13,000 in awards available to students attending a post-secondary institution in the Fall of 2007.

Marine Scholarships

SABRI and Clearwater have partnered together for the past 8 years offering Marine Scholarships to students in the SABRI region. The scholarships were valued up to a maximum of $10,000 depending on which course of study chosen. Courses included in the scholarship were:

Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering (Power & Controls) Co-op, Mechanical (Manufacturing) Engineering Technology, Millwright (Industrial Mechanic), Machinist, Welding Engineering Technician, Marine Diesel Mechanic, Advance Diploma - Food Safety, Advanced Diploma - Aquaculture and Bachelor of Technology.

A total of 23 students have benefitted from this program. There are currently 5 students still enrolled in the program. In addition eight students have completed the program. To date in excess of $102,500 has been awarded to students in the SABRI region under this scholarship program with approximatley $50,000 still to be drawn on.

College of the North Atlantic Scholarship

SABRI awards an annual $100.00 scholarship to a student attending the campus in St. Anthony who is enrolled in Common First Year Technology and who excels in academics and provides help to their fellow students.
